Pregnancy mini Calm & Relax retreats in York
These beautiful half day retreats in York for pregnant women with For Modern Mothers are the perfect self-care for you and your baby in your pregnancy.
They include nourishing yoga to ease niggles and aches and allow you to gently but effectively stretch out your body. We also practice beautiful restorative yoga for pregnancy so you can rest and nurture yourself. As well as deep guided relaxations to help you fully relax body and mind, whilst connecting into your body, your pregnancy and your baby. And with some brilliant breathing practices to release tension and feel great.
All in a beautiful setting in York, with cushions, blankets, candles and cosiness. Along with nourishing food and delicious drinks, and the great company of other pregnant mothers to be.
You will have a deeply nourishing, revitalizing and relaxing time, and leave feeling just wonderful. Really enjoying some special me-time to connect in with yourself and your baby.

What we’ll do
~ The retreat will begin with fresh fruit juices and /or teas on arrival.
~ We’ll do a gentle movement based yoga practice to ease and aches and niggles and gently stretch and ease your pregnant body.
~ Followed by yoga and hypnobirthing breathing practices to find space in our hearts and calm and ground body and mind.
~ We’ll take up some delicious restorative postures for pregnancy, where you can really let your body deeply relax and find stillness in your mind.
~ We’ll do a guided visualisation and meditation to connect you to your pregnancy as you find calmness & ease. With a relaxing soundscape, as the sounds wash over you they’ll support you to release and let go.
~ Finally a yoga nidra (a deep guided relaxation) for pregnancy where you can really enjoy some time to let go and just be in your body.
~ We’ll close our morning with delicious homemade cake and other nourishing treats and drinks, taking time together to share and connect.
We’ll also use essential oils to aid relaxation, make a special pregnancy herbal tea to share and spend time practicing mindfulness techniques to connect you to your pregnancy.
You will leave feeling nourished, connected and so content - really ready to enjoy the rest of your pregnancy with love and calmness.

It helps mums-to-be to connect with their baby and their amazing growing and changing pregnant body, strengthens and keeps the body mobile, eases aches and pains, can help you sleep better and you also learn lovely breathing and relaxation techniques too. There really are so many benefits and you don't need to have practices any yoga before, or to bit 'fit' or 'bendy' or anything! You can start anytime from 14 week, and it will benefit you right up until baby is born.
