It’s me guiding you to gently create your own way to be more connected and feel better in yourself. I am here to support you as you tune into what you truly need for your wellbeing, and so help you look after your family better too.

Find Calm

Learn ways to bring yourself into a calmer state. I’ll show you different techniques to change your nervous system state from the ‘stress response’ to the ‘relaxation’ response. Through yoga and breath work, and simple psychological hack you’ll always have to hand simple ways to short circuit your stress response, and bring yourself back to calmness.


Sleep better

Sleep is always a big one for mothers, new and not so new. Even if our child sleeps - we can find it so hard to switch off, our minds still race, we are still on high alert. So I have a whole practice section specifically for before bed - a little stretch, some breath work, and a dedicate guided relaxation yoga nidra too for sleep (also great if you wake in the night and can’t get back to sleep too). Plus some brilliant tips and tricks to help soothe you ready for sleep.


Rest & reset

Even if sleep is patchy, learning to take some rest can help the mind and body to recharge. It’s important for the body to rest and release tension - sometimes we don’t even know we’re holding so much physical tension in our bodies until we release it and notice the different. I have a couple of beautiful ‘restorative yoga’ practices that will help you let go of deeply held tension in an effortless way - how good is that? Using some cushions, pillows and blankets you’ll create cosy support for your body to rest, release and relax deeply. Ahhhhhhhh.


Self-care

Find you own self-care practices that really work for you as a busy mother. The beautiful guide booklet is super practical, non-patronising and authentic. Broken down into easily to read and and sections. Unpatronising, friendly and supportive yet an absolutely no bulls**t approach - giving you guide to introduce pockets of self-care into your life, at the times as a mother that you need it the most.

By better looking after yourself well, by taking time and by understanding your stress triggers and your inner critic you can be in a more empowered place to care for your child too.


Gently Energise

With some mindful movement you can stretch out your body, and gently re-energise. There are some longer and shorter practices to help you do this, and some more ideas for energising yourself kindly in the accompanying guide booklet yoo.

As mothers we can find that a tight, tense body has become the ‘new normal’ - we need to find ways to tease out the tension and so we feel better in ourselves, and our energy and mood can lift.

It is for woman who’s daily life is incessant busyness, stress and is always ‘doing’. Women who have been left feeling out of touch with their body, their sense of self and the world around them. It is for any woman who longs to dive a little deeper into her self, to be curious but fears she doesn’t have sufficient time or knowledge because her days are already so full. It is about carving out little pockets of time for yourself, and about coming back to ‘being’ not ‘doing’.

I truly feel it is a course for ALL mothers. To help you come back to yourself in a loving way with these simple yet effective practices.

I have personally used developed this toolkit myself, and continue to use them daily. It only becomes more valuable, and I really know the practices work for both teaching them to women over many years and also by doing them myself.

Your teacher

Susan Bradley is the founder of For Modern Mothers. She works with women from pre conception with Fertility Yoga, through pregnancy with her Pregnancy Yoga and Hypnobirthing and Birth Preparation Courses, and onward once they have children with Mum & Baby Yoga, Baby Massage and her Mothers Yoga Socials. She has taught and supported many hundreds of women.

A teacher, mentor and community builder, with a focus and passion on empowering women to have the best possible experience into and through the life changing transition to and through motherhood.  She is known for providing a inclusive, nurturing, supportive yet pragmatic and no BS approach.
