Pregnancy Yoga Weekly Classes & Workshops

Pregnancy Yoga is a brilliant complement to Hypnobirthing. It helps mums-to-be to connect with their baby and their amazing growing and changing pregnant body, strengthens and keeps the body mobile, eases aches and pains, can help you sleep better and you also learn lovely breathing and relaxation techniques too.  There really are so many benefits and you don't need to have practices any yoga before, or to bit 'fit' or 'bendy' or anything! You can start anytime from 14 week, and it will benefit you right up until baby is born.

Benefits of Pregnancy Yoga:

Pregnancy yoga is a form of exercise recommended by midwives, and has many benefits for your pregnancy body and in preparing you for labour, birth and motherhood:

  • keep the body supple and strong without straining

  • boost energy

  • relieve stress and anxiety

  • promote relaxation and restful sleep

  • provide you with breathing techniques and positions to use during labour and birth

  • relieve common minor pregnancy ailments such as heartburn, swollen joints and constipation

  • help expecting mothers to bond with your unborn baby through breathing and visualisation techniques

  • Breathing exercises to create space in the body, bring calm to mum and to introduce ways in which breathing can facilitate birth.

  • Helps you tune into your body and your baby.

Weekly Pregnancy Yoga Classes in York

I teach two lovely and really friendly weekly pregnancy yoga classes every Monday and Thursday evening in York, it's so great to have some time each week for YOU, to connect to your amazing pregnant body, your baby and hang out with other pregnant women.  NO yoga experience is necessary, and no you don't have to be 'bendy' or fit or anything to come along. Just come with an open mind and a desire to be more present in your amazing pregnancy body - as simple as that!

"Slow Down" Pregnancy Yoga - Relax & Replenish Class

Join me for a beautiful pregnancy yoga relaxation class in York supporting self-care, nurturing and deep relaxation during pregnancy. Suitable for all pregnant women from 14 weeks onwards right up to birth. Come and relax, connect and feel you are really taking time for YOU in your pregnancy. This is a special time where you can really rest and relax, and soothe your body and mind. A perfect class to recharge for when you are having trouble sleeping well too (so common in pregnancy). Taking place on a Sunday afternoon so you can recharge for the week ahead.

What we'll do:

  • We'll start with a really short gentle movement yoga practice and some simple self massage techniques to ease any aches and niggles and gently stretch and ease your pregnant body.

  • Then we'll take up some delicious restorative postures for pregnancy, where you can really let your body deeply relax and find stillness in your mind.

  • We'll also explore some calming yoga breathing practices to find space in our hearts and calm and ground body and mind. These can be so useful throughout pregnancy and in labour too.

  • And we'll practice guided visualisation, mindfulness and meditation to connect you to your pregnancy as you find calmness & ease.

  • We'll end with a gorgeous yoga nidra (a deep guided relaxation) for pregnancy where you can really enjoy some time to let go and just be in your body.

We'll also use essential oils to aid relaxation, and there will be a relaxing soundscape to really set the mood - as the sounds wash over you they'll support you to release and let go.

My aim is that you will leave feeling deeply relaxed, connected to your amazing pregnant body and your baby, and nurtured and revived. Filled with love and calmness.
